'Money can't buy happiness'

This article talks about that money can't buy happiness. It means that although if you win a big amount of money from lottery, you can't buy happiness. This article says that poor people who don't have money could be still happy, that means that you don't have to buy happiness with money.

The pearl reflection

When I looked at the book 'The Pearl' for the first time, I was quite interested with the book, because the book is quite short and it looked easy and interesting. But, before I chose this book, I really liked the title of the book 'The Pearl' because it made me curious with the book because I think that the title is quite interesting. Before I started reading the book, I was imagining how the story in the book is going to happen. I thought it was going to be about Pirates but it wasn't. The book taught me that money is not everything and money can't make anything happy. After I read this book, I thought a lot of things that we can do without money. There were quite lot of things that we could do without money, I thought it was actually true. We can think without money, we can breath and sleep without money. I looked back to the story, and I thought that although we have money, it doesn't mean that we have to give up all of our money, but it means that we should use the money wisely, for example, helping poorer people around me, to be happy together, not just being happy by myself.

This book taought me a lot things and I will try to help other people around me.

Guess the tone

What do you have to be, when you are with your boyfriend or girlfriend? What do you try to be? Do you have to be nice to them, or not? Mostly of you think you should be nice and ....  to your boyfriend or girlfriend. If you be nice to your boyfriend and girlfriend, then they will be nice to you also. They will be ... you if you ... them back. It's because the bible says to ... your neighbors like your family. 

Guess the mood

A boy called Philip got all A's which he didn't expect to get. He has a smile on his face after seeing his grades on edline. He was really amazed because he usually get all F's in all of his subjects. He told his parents what he got for his subjects, his parents were also amazed of what he got. Thy were surprised. Philip and his parents were .......... with his grade.

Warm Up

My parents impacted me a lot so far in my life. They helped me in lots different ways, for example, my education and basically whole of my life. They gave and invested so much money on me, to educate me although they are really having a hard and difficult time. My parents were the people who taught me how to live being a human.

The theme of "About Effie" is that we should never ever give up things although it is really hard to do. I think that the author was trying to say that we should never give to archive something that really want, then you will recieve something that you tried for.

Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men." 11So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

This passage shows us that Peter tried really hard to get the fish in the net for whole night, but he hadn't caought anything up. As Jesus went to him, and said that he should try to do it in the deeper water, Peter could have not listened to him, and went back to his house, but he actually tried again, and he caught fish as much as if the net is going to get cut. This is how amazing God is, and we should try and not give up until we get the archievment.

1. Who is Effie waiting for?

Effie waits a man, who she doesn't mentions the name. I think she is waiting for 'Him' to take her away and save her from something that she is worried about.

2. This story contains a lot of Christ imagery. Write down three separate sentences from the story that might symbolize Jesus and explain why Timothy Findley might have written these into his story.



3. Can non-Christian authors reveal truth about God's world?

Not really, because they don't belicve in the heaven, but they can still imagine a a world like that. but point is that, they can't reveal that the God's world is true.

The literary theme is a broad idea, message, or lesson provided by a literary work. "All you need is love" by Beatle, a song about love. The story "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" portrays the author's opinion about honesty.

2a. What is the theme of your life, as you see it right now?
The theme of my life is happyness and exciment. Every day when a wake up in my bed, I have a family that help me, and a home which fill in love. Everyday I have conflicts and advenyure.

3a. In your opinion, what is the theme of God's plan for this world?
I think God did not plan for this world. I think he made it just fot his fun. Because before the creation of the Earth, he was lonely so I think that is why he create the world.

1. How can you figure out a theme in a start story? Describe the process.
I can read a title of the story and then think about what is this title relate to the story. Then start read the story. While I am reading a story, I will find each characters actions and their feelings. And then think about meanings of their actions. When I finish the story, think about the conclution of the story. Finally make connections of my ides(thought). Then I will find them of the story.

2. What is the theme of " The Utterly Perfect Murder" and how does this theme relate to your own life?
The themes of "The Utterly Perfecfect Murfer" are lonely, disappointment and regretment. Sometimes, I do dissappoint to my friends and so due them. They forget what they promised to me. That's hurt my feelings and my trust. I often regret thing that I made it. When I was in Korean school, I made a jok that can hurt my friends feeling. So she cried. I was so sorry for her and disappoint myself.

3. How is a moral of a story different from a theme?
The theme is the main point that the aurthor is trying to tell to the reader. Theme is ideas of the aurthor that is good for us. The moral is a practical lesson in the story.

Bad experience with my siblings

As everybody has at least one bad experience with the sibiling who have silblings, I also had some bad experiences as well. I have two older sisters who are much older than me. Although I don't see them very often because they are in Japan, I still have bad expeiences with them. Something bad that I experienced is when I was really young when I wanted to watch a TV programme desperately. As my sisters were older than me, they had authority to watch the TV but I wanted to watch TV at the same time as they wanted to watch TV. That made a conflict between me and my sister because we wanted to watch whatever we wanted to watch. As I remeber I got to watch the TV because my parents let me watch the TV because I was so young. I think she was jelouse because she didn't get to watch the TV, but I did.

Okay, now what can plot structure reveal to me about the truth I will encounter in literature?

1. The phot shows an example of a plot diagram. First, it shoews exposition, second, rising action, third, climax, forth, falling action and the last is resolution.

2. The stories should and need to be structured because the story also has to be builds up in sequence. So first is to write exposition, then rising action, climax, falling action and lastly the resolution. As the stories are structures, our lives are also structured, so if the writing or a story is structured, that makes the reader read easier and understand better.

3. As I read the plot graph, and the structure of ‘Marigolds’, I found new things that Marigolds is also structured. The girl in the story, Elizabeth’s life is structured, because her life is built like a graph.

4. What is the theme of Marigolds and how does the structure of the story make that time theme evident?

1. Jesus is the light of the world who gave us everyone an opportunity to be his sons and daughters, but not everyone knows who he is. Jesus came down to the earth but nobody believed him. I think Christ’s life can be structured as resolution because Christ was just killed by not doing anything.

Hmmm…what can beauty and reader response reveal to me about short stories & their relationship to truth about God’s world?
1. in reader’s response, there should be several steps through this process. First, we have to know the connection between the characters in the story and how they are related to you or other people like your family or friends. Second, is how the readers react and think about the characters in the story and how the readers react to the story.

2. As we read the reader response, we can know how the readers felt by reading a story, so it makes us easier to know how the story goes or if it’s good or not, which can lead us to open our eyes to more truth.

3. It’s important to interact or connect with literally with something or someone, because it is easier for us to understand the story if we connect and interact with something or someone or even you.

4. I read a book called ‘Checkmate’ which the book is about racism. I already knew that there is still a lot of racism around the world right now, but as I read this book, racism became in my head even more, so I could understand how bad racism is although now it’s the 21st century.

Beauty & reader response

1. In my opinion, the word ‘beauty’ is something or someone which attract thing and humans. This just doesn’t mean this, I think as the bible says, God said that everything is beautiful and wonderful so things that were created by God are all beautiful and wonderful.

This passage, John 1:1-18, would be the exposition because it describes the characters that will show up later on in the story.

The Uttery perfect murder

The topic 'The Uttery perfect murder' sounds like a criminal like. When I want to make a revenge on somebody else, it depends on something that I want to revenge on. For example, if somebody hit me or hit my friends, I want hit the person back because he or she did a bad thing at me. After I revenge, I would feel much in my mind and physically.
